Para Maria de los Tecolotes by Stolpman, 2022

Bright, lifted boysenberries, raspberries, rustic woods, roasted chestnuts. Palate is a plush counterpart to its energetic nose with soft, baked berries floating on whisps of lavender.  A blend of 75% Syrah & 25% Petite Verdot, this is a wonderful surprise of a wine - Syrah and Petite Verdot can be quite domineering however this glides in with a a gentle and massaged yet electrified vibe. Named after Maria, who runs the vineyard crew, is herself passionate yet gentle and friendly. The owl on the label is an ode to her hometown of Tecolote, or "night owl", as well as the resident Great Horned Owl that manages the rodents in the vineyards.
